The Marshall County Council meets Thursday evening, June 8th at 6 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building. The meeting is open to the public and also streamed live from the county’s website at www.co.marshall.in.us.
The agenda includes a quarterly update from County Museum Director Sandy Garrison, a discussion on the county’s solar development policy with county resident Deb VanDeMark, and a request to apply for the Justice Partners Addiction Response Grant from the Marshall County Probation Department.
Marshall Circuit Court Judge Curt Palmer will discuss the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program with the County Council and Annette Haining the county’s Tobacco Education Coordinator will invite council members to attend a presentation on June 27th which will reveal how junior high and high school students in the county deal with life’s challenges including depression and anxiety.
Brian Teal, Development Manager for United Way of Marshall County will ask the county council to financially support Fund the Essentials 2 in the amount of $150,000.
The Council will review tax abatement compliance forms from Faulkner Fabricating and Homestead Dairy/Houin Farms and consider ordinance amendments for job descriptions and the 2023 Salary Ordinance. There is also an opportunity for public input.
