Monday evening during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, Police Chief Dave Bacon asked for approval to offer conditional employment to a candidate.

The chief said Kenton Lovely currently lives in Ohio but is from originally this area.  He has a criminal justice background.  In Ohio, he’s been work criminal justice and law enforcement.  Bacon said he is a qualified applicant and has received an offer from a local department although the Plymouth Police Department was his first choice.

Board member Bill Walters asked about academy training and Chief Bacon said he’s done some in Ohio so they might be able to seek a waiver on a portion of the training here.  If not, he will have to complete the entire training course at the police academy.

The Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the request to offer conditional employment to Kenton Lovely.
