MUSKEGON — The MU Ancilla Women’s Bowling Team returned to action on Friday at the Muskegon Community College Invitational and came away with a 4th place finish with a total score of 3625, just 3 pins behind St. Clair Community College.
Jasmine Huff led the way for the Chargers with a 3-game series score of 491 which was good for a 17th place finish in the tournament. Her 491 was highlighted by a 3rd game score of 190.
Katherine Ford followed Huff with a 469 which included a team-best individual game of 207. Her 207 was the 2nd best score of the entire tournament.
Ford and Huff were followed by Hope Walkowiak who finished with 445, Raven Sagster with 435, Kayley Thornburg with 428, and Erin Stacy rounded out the Charger scoring with 427.
Jackson College took home the team title with a series score of 3949.
For the Chargers Men’s Bowling Team it was Dylan Pohl who earned a big honor, rolling the highest game score of the tournament.
Pohl’s 244 in Game 3 bested Lane Kellogg from Jackson CC and Pohl’s Charger teammate, Sean White, both of whom rolled games of 242. Pohl’s 244 is a season best and helped him earn a 3rd place overall finish out of the 51 bowlers who completed their series of 3 games.
His score of 635 was behind only a 644 and a 648. Sean White finished his day a very strong 7th overall with a series score of 612.
Overall, the Chargers finished in 6th place out of 10 teams with an overall score of 3,923. In addition to Pohl and White, Kody Horan scored a 527 followed by Colin Burger’s 463. Peter Kenney rounded out scoring for MU Ancilla with a 354. Jackson College took the team title with a score of 4647.
MU Ancilla will return to action on January 20th when they travel to the Jackson College Invitational which will take place in Albion, MI and starts at 11 a.m.
