An applicant or two is needed to run for the Town of LaPaz Clerk-Treasurer Office. A qualified candidate must be a resident of the Town of LaPaz to be eligible to run.
Lorraine Dove is retiring this year and LaPaz needs a new clerk-treasurer to run for the open seat. Dove served 11 years on the LaPaz Town Council and was appointed Town Clerk on May 1, 2019, to finish out the term of Susan Albert.
The clerk-treasurer is responsible for the overall collection and distribution of the funds, the administration of the accounting system, and the signing of checks.
Anyone interested in running in the election for this position should contact their political party chairman for information on the election process. Candidates must sign up to run by noon on February 3rd in the Marshall County Clerk’s office in the Court House located at 211 West Madison Street in Plymouth.
