Maleek S. Steele, age 16 of Plymouth, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 12, 2022 in Plymouth, IN.

Maleek was born on January 11, 2006 in Lewistown, PA. He attended Plymouth High School and worked at Wendy’s Restaurant in Plymouth, IN. He previously worked at McDonald’s and Little Caesars. He played football for Plymouth High School. He enjoyed basketball, music, watching anime cartoons, TikTok, watching the Lakers, especially LeBron James, shopping, his favorite color was red, and his favorite food was Mexican food. He loved his sisters, and his baby sister was the light of his life. He liked to spend time with his friends and family as well.

Maleek will be dearly missed by his parents, Durante Ponder and Angie Peretti of Plymouth, IN; his sisters, Paris of Harper Woods, MI; Tierney of Lewistown, PA; Za’Riyah of Plymouth, IN; his grandmother, Bedria Ponder of Atlanta, GA; his step-grandfather, John Peretti Sr., of Kewanna, IN; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Maleek is preceded in death by his sisters, Zaylie and Talliah.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Heath Hiatt of Heartland Church presiding.

Memorial donations may be made to the family or to Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home.
