Sharon M. VanMeter, age 74 of Plymouth, IN, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 3:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka, IN.
Sharon was born to Oliver and Aurelia (Capitina) Greer on April 1, 1948 in South Bend, IN. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1966 and was a member of Plymouth Wesleyan Church. She married Dudley VanMeter on July 6, 1969. She worked as a teller at Bourbon 1st State Bank and at Plymouth High School for over 34 years as the secretary until she retired. She enjoyed sports, especially volleyball and football, along with watching her grandchildren play sports. She volunteered at the high school, vacationed in Florida, and loved going on outings with friends and family.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dudley VanMeter of Plymouth, IN; her daughter, Lisa (Chris) Sedoris of Indianapolis, IN; her son, Chad VanMeter of Plymouth, IN; her brother, Jim A. (Phyllis) Greer of Vero Beach, FL; her stepsister, Rosemary Van Gilder of Ft. Walton, FL; and her grandchildren, Jake Sedoris and Olivia Sedoris of Indianapolis, IN.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Aurelia Greer.
Memorial donations may be made to Plymouth High School Athletic Department (#1 Big Red Drive, Plymouth, IN 46563).
Visitation service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Plymouth Wesleyan Church (11203 Michigan Rd., Plymouth, IN 46563).
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Plymouth Wesleyan Church (11203 Michigan Rd., Plymouth, IN 46563) with Pastor Ed Friberg presiding.
Burial will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery (1300 Chester St., Plymouth, IN 46563).
