The Marshall County Extension Board, the oversight committee for Purdue Extension activities in Marshall County, will host its annual meeting on Thursday, November 10. The meeting will be held at Plymouth Wesleyan Church, located at 11203 Michigan Road. The meeting will include a full meal, prepared by Log House Restaurant.
The Extension Board Annual Meeting will begin with registration and fellowship at 6:00 pm, with dinner served at 6:30 pm. This year’s featured speaker, Bob Allison with Cardno Native Plant Nursery, will present “Native plants as food and medicine for uncertain times, or just because it’s fun!”
The entire Marshall County community is welcome and encouraged to attend. Tickets for the Marshall County Extension Board Annual Meeting are available through the Marshall County Extension Office or any current Extension Board member, at the cost of $10.00/ticket. Tickets must be purchased prior to November 1st.
Current Extension Board members include President- Todd Stuckman, Vice President – Marianne Peters, Secretary- Lynn Fitzpatrick, Terri Barnhart, Steve Barry, Kim Bates, Karen Boland, Oliva Cortes, Adam Thada, Brent Johnson, Jamie Fleury, Cathy Strycker and Jodie Overmyer. The Junior Board members are Lizzie Pugh and Trenton Barnhart.
The Purdue Extension Service is represented in Marshall County by Michelle Gordon-Releford, County Extension Director and Extension Educator for 4-H Youth Development, Robert Yoder, Extension Educator for Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Karen Richey, Extension Educator for Health and Human Sciences. Beckie Lies is the coordinator for Community Wellness Program. Nutrition Education Program Assistants include Kathe Beehler and Yolanda Gorka. Office support staff includes Lindsay Schrader, 4-H Youth Development Admin. Assistant, Maria Casbon, Health and Human Sciences Admin. Assistant, and Krystyna Hyrczyk, Agriculture and Natural Resources Admin. Assistant.
