On Thursday, October 6th at approximately 6:00 p.m. Marshall County Police Department deputies and K-9 Officer Diesel assisted Indiana Department of Corrections parole agents at a home in the 17,000 block of Kenilworth Road in Argos.

During the investigation, suspected methamphetamine, narcotics, paraphernalia, and other drug-related items were located in the residence. Two residents, 43-year-old Scott Lewis and 43-year-old Marlanna Howell were taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Scott Lewis was booked for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, Legend Drug Deception, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Device or Substance to Interfere with Drug or Alcohol Screening Testing, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and his parole violation. He was held on a $2,000 cash bond.

Marlanna Howell was booked for Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug, Legend Drug Deception, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia. She was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
