Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel released the September Jail and Department reports on Wednesday.
The population in the Marshall County Jail on Wednesday, October 5th was 129 with 1 inmate serving time on civil charges, 5 inmates serving time for misdemeanor charges, and 28 inmates serving time with felony charges. The report states that 86 inmates are being held pre-trial, 6 are awaiting arraignment and 3 are being held for another agency.
There were 102 males and 27 females in the Marshall County Jail on the reporting date. The average September 2022 population was 147.9. The March 2022 average population was 149.1 while the August l2021 average population was 165.3.
There are currently 1,340 active warrants.
The Top Ten Offenses for intake in the County Jail for September were 1. Failure to Appear (28), 2. Operating While Intoxicated (9), 3. Operator Never Licensed (9), 4. Violation of Home Detention or Pre-Trial Release (7), 5. Possession of Methamphetamine (7), 6. Driving While Suspended (7), 8. Theft (6), 9. Public Intoxication (5), and 10. Cocaine/Narcotics (5).
During September 2022 there were a total of 118 bookings with Bourbon Police arrested 2, Bremen Police 11, Culver Police 3, Indiana State Police 4, the DNR 1, Plymouth Police 18, Community Corrections 5 and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department 84.
County Police Officers responded to a total of 60 traffic accidents, 47 were property damage, 12 were personal injury accidents and 1 was fatal. Officers completed 74 case reports and issued 11 warnings and or citations.
The Central Dispatch Center received 1,422 911 calls and 2,866 administrative calls for a total of 4,288 calls in September. 99.8% of the 911 calls were answered in 15 seconds and 99.4% were answered in under 10 seconds.
