Plymouth Police were dispatched to the area of Michigan and LaPorte Streets Saturday evening at about 6 p.m. for the report of a package being stolen from a mailbox. 

Officer Beatty spoke with the victim who said a male subject had taken a package from their mailbox. 

The suspect, 33-year-old Austin Hendrix of 2550 North Michigan Street was located and had the stolen package in his possession.  Hendrix was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked for Theft and held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
