Officer Krynock with the Plymouth Police Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction on Friday, July 1st about 11:45 at night. 

The driver, Emidio Armas, 56, of Chicago was investigated for Operating While Intoxicated and Resisted Arrest.

While Emidio Armas was resisting, 26-year-old Usvaldo Armas also of Chicago battered another Plymouth officer and then resisted arrest as well.

Both subjects were incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail for their respective charges and held on $3,000 cash bonds. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
