During the 2022 Summer Indiana Coroner’s Annual Training Conference held in Indianapolis, IN. Marshall County Coroner John Grolich was awarded the 2022 Jeff Stout Service of Excellence Award by the Board of Directors of the Indiana State Coroner’s Association.  

The Jeff Stout Service of Excellence Award is presented annually to a County Coroner or Deputy that demonstrates exemplary service in the field of death investigation.  

During the awards ceremony, Grolich was commended for his collaborative efforts with Marshall County Government to build the County’s first-ever free-standing County Morgue, his tireless work assisting local Funeral Directors and Health Officials during the COVID outbreak as well as Grolich’s compassion and true concern he shows for families of deceased in Marshall County.

The award is named after Coroner Jeff Stout of Howard County. Coroner Stout died in 2020 from health-related complications.
