Rebecca Palmer who started the Caring Cupboards in Marshall County said the food box at the Plymouth Fire Department was permanently closed as of May 22nd.   She said the Fire Department has other plans for the spot where the box is located on the south side of the ambulance bays. Unfortunately, the backup location at the Plymouth Police Station has fallen through as well.

Until they can secure another Plymouth location Palmer asks citizens to reach out to the Marshall County Neighborhood Center or Bread of Life Food Pantries if they are in need. If you live in Marshall County outside of the Plymouth area, there is a food box located at the gazebo by the smokestack in Bremen as well as in Bourbon outside of the Police Station.

For Starke County residents, there’s a food box located in Knox.

Palmer wanted to thank those that supported the program by donating non-perishable food items over the past couple of years. It has been greatly appreciated.
