The Marshall County Drainage Board meets Monday morning at 8:30 in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building followed by the County Commissioners’ meeting at 9:30.

Members will hear the request for several variances.  Laurie Kreft from Steel Ridge is seeking a variance on the Spencer Kessler tile drain and Bryce and Brianna Barrcus are also seeking a variance on the Spencer Kessler tile. Kevin and Donna Chaney are seeking a variance on the Bohmer Ditch and L. Graber Farms is seeking a variance on the Armey Ditch. 

Arthur and James Woolington will discuss the York Tile Drain and Norfalk Properties will be on hand to detail their variance request.  The Drainage Board will be updated on an IDEM investigation of a fuel spill in the Gail Unsicker Ditch

County Surveyor Craig Cultice will discuss mowing and de-brushing maintenance of the Dausman Ditch and Yellow River and he will discuss the Yellow River bank stabilization project and Bremen Park kayak launch.

The commissioners have a full agenda with a report from the Highway Department, an annual update from the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County, a CASA program update, and a quarterly report from Older Adult Services. 

The commissioners will also consider a request to apply for a grant from the Prosecutor, get an update on the Lifelong Learning Network from Greg Hildebrand from MCEDC, and consider a request for a new School Guard app on the county’s smartphone app.

The meetings are open to the public for comments and questions.
