PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims claimed their second redemption win over a District-Ranked opponent this week this time 3-2 over the Chesterton Trojans in incredibly windy conditions in Centennial Park.
Plymouth lost to virtually the same Chesterton lineup last season 3-2 but came out on top Thursday.Both doubles teams secured solid wins. At 1D, Taylor Delp and Ellie Jones won their match in convincing fashion 6-2, 6-0, despite losing to the same Trojan duo last season 6-1, 6-1. At 2D, Annie Plothow and Cassidy Riddle won their match 6-0, 6-1 despite losing to Chesterton in straight sets last year as well.
The third point came from 1S Aubrey Vervynckt, who topped an All-District Singles player from 2021, Milena Veltri 7-5, 6-1. After a tight battle in the first set, Aubrey cruised to victory in the second set.
JV doubles winners for the Pilgrims tonight were Emma Jackson-Lena Houin, Cloe Byrd-Natalie Sheely, Jo Houin-Magaly Rodriguez (twice), and Dorothy Karris-Katie Fishback.
Plymouth travels to Culver on Good Friday, 4/15/22, to battle a potential Regional opponent and Marshall County rival Culver Academy starting at 5:15 p.m.
