The Marshall County Plan Commission is warning politicians and their supporters of sign violations.

In support of the election and a fair primary, candidates and supporters are required to follow state and local sign regulations.

Parcels zoned and regulated by Marshall County are required to follow the Marshall County Zoning Ordinance.

Article 6 section 200 states, “Signs of Expression, Political Signs and other signs of expression shall not be located in a public right-of-way or otherwise create a safety hazard.”

The easiest way to determine the county’s right-of-way is behind the telephone poles.  All political signs are being requested to be relocated out of the right-of-way by Monday, April 18th or they will be removed.

This directive comes from the Marshall County Planning Commission.
