The Bourbon Town Council took the first steps in the Tax Abatement process Tuesday evening by declaring a piece of property to be within an Economic Revitalization Area (ERA).  The tax abatement request came from Harmony Marketing Group at 115 North Main Street in Bourbon.

Tim Harmon from Harmony Marketing appeared before the Town Council to discuss the business in preparation for the Tax Abatement Public Hearing that will be conducted during the March 8th Bourbon Town Council meeting.

The abatement is for a new piece of machinery that costs $2,057,494.  Mr. Harmon said by adding the new equipment they would be adding 8 new employees.

The terms of the abatement have not been determined by the council.  That will happen after the public hearing during the March meeting.

The Bourbon Town Council approved the resolution declaring the property to be in an ERA.
