The Hershey Company has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Dot’s Pretzels LLC and Pretzels Inc. as part of a $1.2 billion deal. The acquisition includes the Pretzels Inc. plant located on Pioneer Drive in Plymouth.
Pretzels Inc., which is based in Bluffton, Indiana, started operations in Plymouth in 2017 after moving into a shell building constructed through the efforts of Marshall County Economic Development. The company expanded the Plymouth facility in 2020 and opened another plant in Lawrence, Kansas, earlier this year. The acquisition includes all three plants in Indiana and Kansas.
According to a press release from Hershey, “Pretzels Inc. will help us expand Hershey’s snacking and production capabilities.”
Pretzels Inc. is an affiliate of Peak Rock Capital and is a co-manufacturer of pretzels for Dot’s Pretzels and several other brands.
