The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Thursday that the ramp closure previously scheduled for Kern Road to northbound U.S. 31 will begin on or after Monday, July 19.
The ramp will be closed for approximately three weeks, weather permitting, for a bridge deck overlay project. A bridge deck overlay is a protective treatment done to extend the life of a bridge deck.
Motorists should seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow Ironwood Rd and U.S. 20. This schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
