Mishler smallIndiana Senator Ryan Mishler released the following statement pertaining to the 2-year budget the Republicans have proposed.

“More than a decade’s worth of conservative fiscal discipline by the Indiana General Assembly is paying off in a big way for Hoosiers. With more than $1 billion in new dollars for K-12 tuition support, Hoosier students and schools remain a top priority in our state’s next two-year budget proposal. The full $600 million, as recommended by the Teacher Compensation Commission, is also included to further support our public schools and teachers. The final budget proposal also reduces state debt by more than $1 billion, setting up our state for continued success in the future. Finally, this proposal highlights the General Assembly’s work with the governor to appropriate nearly every federal dollar our state received in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am proud to invest in the future of Indiana, and I believe this budget proposal truly reflects the needs of the Hoosier state over the next two years and beyond.”
