In October of 2020, the City of Plymouth created the new position of Human Resources Manager within the City Law Department. The Human Resources Manager’s role is to provide oversight and management of human resources administration, benefits, and legal and regulatory compliance for the City’s more than 100 employees. City Attorney Sean Surrisi stated, “I was pleased to hire Jennifer (“Jen”) Klingerman for the new position. She’s off to a great start and making a big impact on the City’s HR programming.”
A Plymouth native and a 2006 PHS graduate, Jen Klingerman still calls Plymouth home along with her husband Jim and their three sons. She holds a certificate in human resources management and an associate’s degree in business administration from Indiana Institute of Technology and is working toward completion of her bachelor’s degree later this year. She’s also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Indiana Municipal Personnel Administrators for Cities and Towns organization. “I have a passion for caring for others and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of my city in this role,” said Human Resources Manager Klingerman.
“For the City, like any organization, our people are our greatest asset,” said Mayor Mark Senter. “That fact has probably never been more evident than it has been over the past year of pandemic. As essential workers, the City’s employees have worked hard throughout these trying times to continue to serve the community. I’m proud of the good work Jen is doing to support our employees in her role as Human Resources Manager,” Mayor Senter also stated.
