OWI_Drinking and DrivingOn Saturday, February 27th at 1:48 P.M. Officer Arnold with the Plymouth Police Department initiated a traffic stop in the area of US 30 and Pioneer Drive.

During the investigation of the traffic stop the driver was identified as 39 year old Eric C. Branch of Kentwood, Michigan.

Branch was taken into custody on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxication with Endangerment with a juvenile passenger, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Resisting Law Enforcement. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held on a $1,505 bond. He was released the next day after posting bond and received a Marshall County Superior II court date of March 30th.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
