NewsThe Marshall County Commissioners and County Council members will convene for a special joint work session on Thursday, February 4th.

The work session will be held in the 3rd floor meeting room of the County Building beginning at 9 a.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss House Bill 1311 which is specific to Marshall County.   The bill provides that money accumulated from the Marshall County additional tax rate for criminal justice facilities will be transferred to the county’s jail fund when the tax is terminated.  Originally the additional funds were to go to the County Highway fund.

Council President Tim Harman asked for a joint work session during the council meeting on January 11th.  He noted that with three new council members, they would like to get up to date on various projects going on in the county including the 2021 county road plan, courthouse tower restoration project and bridge replacement projects.

The work session on Thursday will be open to the public, although no comments or questions will be permitted from the public.  Face masks and social distancing is requested.
