Members of the Marshall County Alcohol Beverage Commission meet Tuesday morning in a virtual meeting to consider three renewals.

Marshall County Alcohol Beverage CommissionCasey’s General Store at 1436 West Plymouth Street was up for renewal last month but had a violation and failed to attend the December meeting so their renewal was held over to the January meeting.  A representative from Casey’s Marketing Company, Deborah Clark was in attendance for the beer and wine grocery renewal and explained the violation.

The violation at Casey’s occurred on January 7, 2020 and was the sale of alcohol to an underage customer.  An employee sold the alcohol without requiring an ID.  While the employee did ask for an ID, the customer did not have it and the employee processed with the sale transaction anyway.

After a discussion Casey’s was granted a 2-year renewal.  They also had to pay a find of $1,000 for the violation.

The other two renewals were automatic renewals since there were no violations. Both Park-N-Shop in Culver and the Plymouth VFW were unanimously approved for renewal.
