Power outage ice and snow Jan 2021Residents across Marshall County started out the new year with power outages due to the freezing rain that came in on New Years Day.  As crews were finishing up that emergency heavy wet snow fell Saturday night causing more issues.

Utility workers from Marshall County REMC and NIPSCO have worked tirelessly to restore power to businesses and residents.  Branches still covered in ice were covered with several inches of snow overnight Saturday into Sunday causing many downed limbs.  Those branches fell on power lines and caused thousands to be without power for several hours.
