On Friday, December 18th at 10:41 A.M. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received information of an Active Warrant for Probation Violation through Kosciusko County on 35 year old Austin James Cassidy of Bremen.
As Deputy Snyder attempted located Mr. Cassidy it was determined that he was not in compliance of his Sex Offender Registry requirements. He was later located at his place of Employment on Dogwood Road which also was not registered and was taken into custody.
Cassidy was transported to the Marshall Jail where he was held on the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender with a Prior Conviction with bond set at $5,005.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
