County News # 1Members of the County Council took time during their final meeting of the year to recognize three members.

Council Vice-President Penny Lukenbill read a resolution from the council for Judith Stone who wasn’t at the meeting Monday.  It said, “Judith Stone has been on the Marshall County Council for 12 years serving from January 1, 2008 until December 1, 2020, having served as President for 4 years.  Judith Stone has retired from the Council after years of distinguished service and as a result of her outstanding leadership, Marshall County has been and continues to be financially sound with the highest ratings in the State of Indiana.  Judith Stone is hereby honored by the County Council for her 12 years of outstanding leadership to the county and they acknowledge her dedication and commitment to the citizens of Marshall County.”

Councilmember Jim Masterson they read a resolution recognizing Penny Lukenbill who served the citizens of Marshall County as Treasurer and Auditor as well as her 4 years on the County Council.  The resolution read said, “Penny Lukenbill has served Marshall County in all three positions with distinction and as a result of her outstanding leadership Marshall County has been and continues to be financially sound with the highest financial ratings in the State of Indiana.  The County Council honors Penny Lukenbill for her 21 year of outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to the citizens of Marshall County.”

The final resolution ready by Masterson was to honor Jon VanVactor for his 8 years of leadership on the County Council.  The resolution also recognized his outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to the citizens of Marshall County.

Both Lukenbill and VanVactor will be completing their terms on the Council at the end of the year.
