Last week, Bourbon Town Council President Ward Byers announced that the town has received a Community Crossing Grant in the amount of $209,898.62.
He noted that the grant amount is lower than in previous years, but the request was lowered since the town must match the grant funds.
The monies will be used for micro-sealing some streets and some sidewalks. A list of the proposed streets being improved include Jefferson Street from north Thompson Street to Main Street; east North Street from North Thayer Street to Lincoln Street; North Thayer Street from East North Street to East Park Avenue and Jackson Street from East Ecker Street to 3rd Street. On Liberty Avenue they do an asphalt overlay with sidewalk replacement and ADA ramps and on Schafer Road from North Main Street to North Harris Street will be an asphalt overlay.
Work will begin in the spring of 2021.
