BREMEN – The Lions were defeated by Elkhart at the Bremen Aquatics Center 119-64 for the girls, and 105-73 for the boys.
Notable swimmers were junior Lextin Willis and freshman Kaia Podlin.
Willis placed 1st in the 200 individual medley (2:16.99), smashing his personal best by two seconds. He also placed 1st in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.69).
Podlin placed 1st in the 100 butterfly, cruising in with a time of 59.40; she also placed 1st in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.51).
Notable divers were senior Raven White and junior Al Byrd. Raven placed 1st in the one-meter dive with a score of 153.75. Al placed 2nd with a score of 165.15.
The Lion Ladies showed great tenacity in the 100 freestyle. Freshman Audrey Sands (1:02.87), senior Lauren Miller (1:05.93), and freshman Sylvia Meyer (1:06.47) took the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place finishes.
The ladies ended the meet with an electrifying 1st place finish in the 400 freestyle relay (4:09.42)
The boys exhibited their strength in the 500 freestyle. Senior Jacob Fish (6:11.63) and sophomores Keegan Miller (6:19.38) and Sam Stiles (6:22.33) took the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place finishes.
In the last race of the evening, the boys scored a stunning victory over Elkhart in the 400 freestyle relay (3:55.14).
