serenityGarden Court, Inc. will conduct a Groundbreaking Ceremony for their Plymouth Permanent Supportive Housing Project, Saint Katharina Kasper Serenity Place, on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at 11:00 am at the project site, 1804 W. Jefferson St. in Plymouth, Indiana. Attendees may use the parking lot of Centier Bank adjacent to the site.

Garden Court, Inc. initiated development of this project in 2016 after an area study identified a compelling need for this type of housing in Plymouth and surrounding communities.

Serenity Place will provide eighteen (18) units of permanent supportive housing for very low-income individuals and families with children experiencing homelessness. The development will include a two‐story energy efficient building consisting of four one bedroom units, ten two-bedroom units, and four three-bedroom units. The building will include approximately 11,000 square feet of residential space and 5,000 square feet of community space. Community space will include on site laundry facilities, a case management office, and a community room.

Local partner organizations will provide transportation, case management services, mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention, monthly food and clothing allotments, education opportunities, and preventive health services to residents. Bradley Company will manage the project when leased.

Garden Court’s Serenity Place project was funded through a combination of sources including grant funds from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, and the Community Foundation of Marshall County, as well as donations from the City of Plymouth, the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, and Lake City Bank, in addition to loans from Lake City Bank and the Indiana Corporation for Supportive Housing.
