SOUTH BEND – Bremen’s girls defeated South Bend Clay 112-59 at the Clay Aquatics Center.
Notable individuals were junior Sophia Freehauf and freshmen Addie Stine, Sylvia Meyer, and Lexi Cannon.
Freehauf placed 3rd in the 100 breast, breaking her personal record (PR) by 2.5 seconds (1:38.00). Stine placed 4th in the 500 free, shattering her best time by more than 10 seconds (8:40.41). Meyer placed 2nd in the 100 free, improving her time by more than 1 second (1:07.59). Cannon placed 3rd in the 200 IM, breaking her PR by 11 seconds (3:26.66); she also placed 1st in the 100 fly with a time of 1:32.72, a 1-second improvement.
Notable finishes were in the 50 free and 100 free events. Kaia Podlin (26.16), Sylvia Meyer (29.69), and Lauren Miller (30.42) swept the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the 50 free; while Audrey Sands (1:04.10), Sylvia Meyer (1:07.59), and Lauren Miller (1:08.37) swept the 100 free. Finally, the Lion Ladies came back to defeat the Colonials in a tight 400 Free Relay.
