fire dangerThe National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement regarding an elevated risk for Fire Danger on Thursday.  A Wind Advisory goes into effect from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 p.m.  Wind gusts are expected to be as high as 45 MPH.

TH On Thursday, the relative humidity values will be about 30% and southwest winds will be strong with gust up to 40 mph.  The combination of these conditions will lead to an elevated fire danger.

The impact could be an increase of grass, field, brush, and ditch fires that may spread out of control and could cause significant damage. Uncontrolled fires can result in overwhelming  local emergency response agencies.  Please don’t burn.

PREPAREDNESS ACTION:   Open burning is NOT recommended.
