Sealed quotes were opened during Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting for a new dump truck for Oak Hill Cemetery.
Only one quote was received, that was from McCormick Motors in Nappanee. Their quote was for a Chevrolet LCF 3500 out-fitted as requested was $58,415. The cemetery department will trade in a 2008 Chevrolet 4500 HP dump body truck of $33,781.89. The net cost to the Plymouth Cemetery Department would be $24,633.20.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi reminded Board of Works members that Superintendent Mike Collins has been before them and the City Council a few time on this purchase. He has worked with the Clerk/Treasurer to move funds around in this budget to cover the expenditure.
The Board of Public Works and Safety approved the purchase subject to it meeting the specifications set by Superintendent Collins.
