U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) Thursday announced her office will host a virtual “Medicare 101” educational session on Tuesday, October 6th, at 1:00 p.m. ET. Hoosiers can join the online event to learn the basics of the Medicare program, including enrollment, and have their questions answered by experts.
“Medicare is a sacred commitment our country has made to every senior,” Congresswoman Walorski said. “Part of keeping that promise is making sure Hoosiers get the information and assistance they need to secure the benefits they deserve. By making this year’s “Medicare 101” virtual, we can provide essential information to current and future Medicare enrollees while keeping our fellow Hoosiers safe and healthy. I encourage all 2nd District Hoosiers who are at or near retirement age – or who are caregivers for Medicare beneficiaries – to join us online to learn more about Medicare.”
A caseworker from Walorski’s office and a Medicare specialist from Indiana’s State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) will present information about the basics of Medicare and answer constituents’ questions. Participants can view the video presentation and submit questions on Zoom and Facebook Live. The video will be posted after the event for those who were unable to watch live. Medicare’s upcoming annual Open Enrollment Period will run from October 15th to December 7th.

Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana, serving as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
