As coronavirus trends continue to improve in Indiana, Governor Holcomb’s Back On Track Indiana plan will move into Stage 5 on September 26th and will be in effect until at least October 17th.
Per Governor Holcomb’s Executive Order, face coverings are still required when inside a business, public building, or other indoor public space and while outdoors when social distancing is not possible. People still need to maintain social distancing, increased hand washing and sanitation, and no one should go to work, school, or out in public if they are feeling sick. Stores, malls, restaurants, bars, gyms, raceways, and personal services can open at full capacity beginning this Saturday but must maintain social distancing and face covering requirements. Long term care facilities are required to provide visitation opportunities. Size limitations are removed for meetings and social gatherings. Organizers of events that will include more than 500 people, however, must submit a written plan for approval by the local health department.
Please remember that opening back up does not mean the virus is gone. It means that thanks to preventative measures, we are seeing less positive cases, and hospital availability is not at risk. COVID-19 does Not discriminate. It can and will infect anyone that comes in contact with it. Do the right things to not infect your family and others. Practice social distancing, and wear a mask as required and as necessary. Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer often. Avoid touching your face, and increase cleaning and sanitation of high touch surfaces. You never know whose life you may save, including your own.
