Throughout the Town of Bourbon Scarecrows will be displayed for this year’s Scarecrow Contest. This year’s event will take place Thursday, October 1st through Saturday, October 31st. You are asked to have your registration form submitted prior to Monday, September 21st to the Town of Bourbon Clerk’s Office drop box or emailed to Kim Berger at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The contest will be open to individuals, businesses, organizations and clubs with no entry fee.
Scarecrows must be in place by Thursday, October 1st to be entered into the contest and may be set up as early as Saturday, September 26th.
In assembling your scarecrow you are reminded to secure your display and construct it to weather the elements as you will be asked to maintain your scarecrow entry during the duration of the contest.
Entries must be in good taste and family friendly with no adult or political themes.
If you would rather have your scarecrow displayed in town verses displaying on your own personal property you are asked to contact the Clerk’s Office. Any entry not registered will be removed.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges with a review of all entries and will be announced and recognized on Tuesday, October 13th at the Town Council Meeting.
Prizes for this year’s entries will be $100 for 1st Place, $75 for 2nd Place, $50 for 3rd Place and $25 for 4th Place.
Scarecrow displays located downtown may be removed starting November 1st.
