Plymouth Fire Department_commendedOn Saturday, August 29th members of the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department participated in a fundraiser playing water ball in Waynetown, Indiana against other fire departments.   While the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department brought home the 1st place trophy the lasting impression left behind at the Waynetown Community Fire Department was nothing short of commendable.

The following was a message received by the Waynetown, Indiana Fire Chief:

On August 29th we held a fundraiser for one of our fire service brothers that was severely injured in an accident at home in early July.
Several members from the Plymouth Fire dept drove over 2 hrs to play water ball. I must say that I was honored to meet you.
Plymouth Indiana should be very proud of you. Not so much for winning the trophy but for the gracious attitude that you brought with you.
As most depts here haven’t played for several years. From assisting in directions, helping depts with pointers and all out great attitudes.
I must say that I was honored to have all of you here as you helped make our day complete.
You represented your town and Fire dept outstandingly and have the upmost respect from Waynetown Fire Dept as well as the other Montgomery county depts.
We were able to raise over $26,000 for our brother in need
God Bless you all!!!!

The firefighter injured was Montgomery County Coroner Darren Forman.  Forman was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis July 7 following an accident during a family event. He has spent nearly three decades serving Montgomery County as a paramedic, fire chief, firefighter and coroner.

Plymouth Firefighters were: Travis McVicker, Fred Kaylor, Daren Miller, Greg Carroll Jr. and Craig Miller.
