The request to place a Deaf Child at Play sign on Garro Street was approved by the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety early last month. That same person also requested a Geese Crossing Sign on Garro Street near River Park Square. The second request was tabled for additional information.
Last Monday, Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt said he spent several early mornings in the area and didn’t really see any need for the signage. He also noted that they haven’t had to pick-up and geese that have been struck by vehicles in the area.
The Board of Public Works and Safety denied the request for the Gees Crossing sign.
In other action the board considered a request of the property owner at 310 Indiana Avenue for a new sidewalk.
Marquardt told the Board of Works the sidewalk is in pretty bad shape, overgrown and there may be some missing. Currently the Street Department is working at the intersection of Washington and Indiana Streets. He said the request could be put on the list of project for the 2021 season.
