LaVille scores big in win over Mishawaka
LAKEVILLE – The LaVille Boys Soccer team used a balanced scoring attack en route to an 8-5 victory over Mishawaka in a non-conference match played at Newton Park,
Three goals were scored in a four-minute span of the first half. The Cavemen netted the first goal of the match at the 10-minute mark.
Conner Deason was quick to answer, finding the goal in the 11th-minute mark to tie the match at 1-1. Mishawaka regained the lead at the 14-minute mark to end the early-match scoring.
The Lancers, however, outscored the Cavemen 4-1 to close the half to take a 5-3.
Logan Plummer tied the match at 2-2 at the 18th minute before the Lancers found their offensive rhythm.
Deason scored his second goal, Kaiden Rush a goal, and Mason Girst found the net to finish the first half.
The offense slowed just a bit in the second half, but not before Deason beat the Mishawaka defense for his third goal of the match and first hat trick of the season.
The Lancers controlled the tempo and out possessed the Cavemen 68-percent to 32-percent.
LaVille, now 1-0, will play host to New Prairie on Aug. 27 at Newton Park. The match is scheduled to kick at 6:30 p.m.
