Prison_SentenceMarshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman announced the conviction and sentencing of Candice Moe. Moe, 28, of Culver plead guilty in Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 on one count of Dealing Methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony and one count of Dealing Methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Tami Napier and Christopher Berdahl, Moe’s attorney, arrived at a plea agreement that Judge Robert O. Bowen accepted on July 9, 2020.

On March 29, 2019, the Marshall County Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team (UNIT) orchestrated a controlled buy from Moe that occurred at the Red Rock Inn in Plymouth, Indiana. UNIT officers and/or their confidential informants purchased 1.6 grams of methamphetamine. This incident is the basis for the Level 4 Dealing in Methamphetamine charge. On April 1, 2019, the UNIT orchestrated another controlled buy at the Red Rock Inn whereby Moe sold 16.9 grams of methamphetamine to UNIT officers and/or their confidential informants. These two sales were the basis for the Level 2 Dealing in Methamphetamine charge.

Judge Bowen accepted the plea agreement and, after hearing testimony from Moe and arguments from Napier and Berdahl, imposed an aggravated sentence of 20 years for 2 the Level 2 Felony Dealing Count and 8 years for the Level 4 Felony Dealing Count to run concurrently.
