Bourbon-downtownBourbon Town Attorney Tony Wagner presented a draft of a contract between the Town of Bourbon and Habitat for Humanity for the purchase of lots at 308 East Center Street. The council had been negotiating with the organization for several months.

Wagner said Habitat won’t be able to sell the property for profit and must use the option to build homes on the property.

Habitat is expected to break ground for three homes in the spring of 2020. Wagner said he would draft a final document after making sure the contract includes all the necessary language to satisfy the grant that is being use for the project.

This is part of the Marshall County Home Ownership Project that will build 10 home in the county.  Three of the home will be in Bourbon, three in Argos and four in Plymouth.
