The Lincoln Junior High construction project continues to be on schedule and on budget. Project manager Derek Anderson of Skillman was unable to attend the monthly school board meeting in December; however, Superintendent Andy Hartley reported that a progress meeting was held on December 3.
Hartley said all of the walls are done in the academic portion of the building. Hartley said the locker rooms are nearly complete as well with only the lockers and ceiling tile to be installed.
If the project continues on schedule, students will be able to start the 2020-2021school year in the new building. Plans are to demolish the existing school except for the areas designated for renovation and to be used for other purposes. Hartley indicated at the November school board meeting that they are in the design phase for the part of the structure that will be left intact.
An additional part of the overall project is HVAC work at Plymouth High School. An old chiller was removed and a new one was stalled by crane. Ventilators are to be installed some classrooms.
