The annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in Bourbon has been scheduled for December 7 at 6:00 P.M.
Town Clerk Kim Berger asked if the town would continue to hold a Christmas Decorating contest since there were only six homes registered for consideration last year. The council supported the contest for 2019 and plans to extend registration by home owners as well as nominations from the public. The date for the judging will be announced at a later date.
The final order of business for the Bourbon Town Council was Water and Wastewater Superintendent Steve Stacy. Stacy said the Council needs to consider purchasing new meters citing breakdowns of the equipment, the proposed fees for upgrading the current software and new training costs for the current meters.
Stacy said there are 640 meters for residential customers.
The matter will be discussed further at the December meeting of the Bourbon Town Council.
