Members of the Plymouth Park Board were updated on the Walking Bridge project in River Park Square by Randy Strasser from VS Engineering during their meeting last week.
VS Engineering was given the notice to proceed with the project in December last year. Since that time survey work, hydraulics, field inspections, wetland delineations and the historic properties report and preliminary utility work have been completed.
Next year right-of-way engineering and permitting will take place along with finalizing the scope of the project.
Strasser told the park board the will begin working on final design concepts which would include the approaches and the possibility of lighting on the bridge.
At this time final plans are scheduled for May of 2021 with bidding on the project set for October 2021 and restoration in 2022.
