owi-arrestCity Police arrested three people over the weekend for Operating While Intoxicated.

On Friday evening, May 31st about 6 Officer Stamper stopped a vehicle at 2160 North Oak Drive and found 73 year old Roger Miller of Walkerton to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.  He was lodged in Marshall County Jail.

About 8:00 PM on Saturday, June 1st Officer Arnold responded to the report of a possibly impaired driver.  43 year old Randi Doolittle of Elkhart was located in operation of the vehicle in the parking lot of Mc Donald’s. After an investigation Ms. Doolittle was arrested for OWI with a BAC above .15 , driving while suspended with a prior, and possession of a legend drug. Ms. Doolittle was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

In the early morning hours of Monday, June 3rd, Officer Arnold conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of North Walnut and West Harrison Streets. After an investigation the driver of the vehicle, 23 year old Tyre Simpson of Plymouth was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail for OWI with a juvenile passenger, possession of marijuana, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  He was held on a $3,000 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
