Handcuffs-newA suspicious person complaint on Saturday, June 1st lead to the arrest of a Walkerton man.

About 5 p.m. Plymouth Police Sgt. Joe Deisch investigated the complaint of a man in front of the Plymouth Public Library at 201 North Center Street.  He located 26 year old Mathew V. Obrien who was passes out in front of the library.

Obrien was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was arrested for Possession of Marijuana as a first offense and Public Intoxication.  He was held on a $500 cash bond.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
