Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved an ordinance to amend the fee scheduled for the Municipal Airport.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi said there was only one change to the fee schedule. The Board of Aviations Commissioner already approved a $10 increase on hanger rent from $85 to $95. It also allows for the flexibility in the current M hanger and B hanger to rent the entire hanger for business opportunities or space to individual aircraft.
Surrisi gave the example, “The M Hanger is going to be used by Culver Academies. They will lease some office space but not the entire hanger. They will have some individual planes in there.”
Surissi asked the council, if they were so inclined to suspend the rules and pass the ordinance on all three reading so the ordinance amendment could be advertised and the new fees could be issued to the hanger tenants affected for the May rental.
City Councilman Don Ecker asked when the last time hanger rents were increase and was told at least 5 years ago.
The City Council suspended the rules and unanimously passed the ordinance amendment on all three reading.
Plymouth airport fees include:
a. Rental for a space in Hangar A, Hangar B, Hangar C, Hangar D, or Hangar M… $95 per month, each with an executed lease. If rent is paid late, an additional late fee of $25 is due.
b. Rental for all of Hangar B…..$450 per month and an executed lease, including a provision that the tenant shall pay for all utilities.
c. Rental for Hangar M…….$450 per month and an executed lease, which includes a provision that the tenant pays for heat for the Hangar, and pays for all other utilities to its office area.
d. Rental for ramp tie down……. $30 per month and an executed lease.
e. Transient aircraft ramp tie down…..$10 per overnight, subject to waiver provision embodied in Section 2.
f. Transient single engine aircraft enclosed hangar…..$30 per overnight, subject to partial waiver provision embodied in Section 2.
g. Transient multi-engine/turbine engine aircraft enclosed hangar….$50 per overnight, subject to partial waiver provision embodied in Section 2.
h. Any aircraft utilizing electric engine pre-heat…….$15 per day.
i. Any aircraft utilizing heated hangar space for de-icing or pre-heating aircraft……. $50 for each three (3) hours of heated hangar use.
j. Rental for exclusive use of certain office space adjacent to Hangar M, including, the lower west suite of approximately 752.2 sq. ft., the lower middle room of approximately 716.0 sq. ft., the lower east suite of approximately 766.8 sq. ft., and non-exclusive use of the upper level area overlooking Hangar M of approximately 592.7 sq. ft. . . $750 per month, inclusive of water/wastewater, gas, and electric utilities, with an executed lease. If rent is paid late, an additional late fee of $50 is due.
