U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) Friday announced she was named co-chair of the Congressional Philanthropy Caucus, a bipartisan group of about two dozen Members of Congress working to educate and advocate for solutions to encourage charitable giving and fight poverty.
“When Americans selflessly give their money, time, and ingenuity, they make a real difference in people’s lives,” Congresswoman Walorski said. “Having spent four years working as a missionary in Romania, I have seen the transformative power of philanthropy and charity firsthand. I’m honored to chair the bipartisan Philanthropy Caucus and work with my colleagues to find solutions to encourage charitable giving and help lift people out of poverty and up the economic ladder.”
“The Council on Foundations is grateful for Rep. Jackie Walorski’s service and leadership as the new co-chair of the Philanthropy Caucus,” “Congresswoman Walorski hails from Indiana, where philanthropic organizations have made an impact in countless communities, bringing innovative solutions to issues like education and community development. She knows firsthand the power of philanthropy, and we look forward to working with her on issues important to the sector.”
