City NEwsMonday evening the Plymouth Common Council took official action to transfer money from the Rainy Day Fund to the Greenway Trail Project for phase II.

A resolution was presented by City Attorney Sean Surrisi who explained that the transfer of $250,000 will cover some interim expenses.

Bid letting for the project that will construct the Greenway Trail from near the Coffee Lodge on East Jefferson Street southward through Gill Park with a pedestrian bridge into River Park Square will be in February with construction set for this spring.

The resolution includes having the $250,000 placed back into the Rainy Day Fund when the project is completed.

Third phase of the Greenway Trail will be all within River Park Square.  At a prior meeting Mayor Mark Senter said the city is looking into doing that project themselves.
