County News # 1In a split vote the Marshall County Council approved submission of a job description for a temporary, part-time Code Enforcement Officer.

Last month, Stan Klotz, president of the County Plan Commission asked the County Council to consider a new, temporary, part-time Code Enforcement Officer. He presented a rough-draft job description and said the position would be 15 hours a week working 2 days a week.  He noted that the position would not be under the jurisdiction of current Planning Director, Ralph Booker but the person would work for the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Monday the County Council approved sending a job description to the county’s HR consultants, Waggoner, Irwin and Scheele for further development and determination of a pay range.

The council voted 3-2-1 with Heath Thornton, Bill Githens and Jim Masterson in support, Judy Stone and Jon VanVactor opposed and Penny Lukenbill abstaining because her husband it the attorney for the Plan Commission.
